Finland is still receiving a consistent number of Indian students. Study visas are now easily obtained by students thanks to the efficient VFS procedure. Thus, before applying for a study visa to Finland, make sure you are aware of certain important details and the necessary paperwork.

The applicant must have a bank account in his/her own name

Joint accounts are accepted only for minor (under 18 years at the time of application)

The account must have funds equivalent to EUR 9600. The bank certificate must state the account no, since when it has been operating, if there is a guardian(joint holder) in case of minor, the amount held in rupees and in Euros, the current exchange rate.
For Students Without Personal Income
If you don't have your own income, your parents or guardians must provide the following documents to prove financial support:

Statement of Support: A letter from the sponsor (parent or relative) stating their relationship to you and their willingness to financially support you.

Cover Letter: A letter from the parent or guardian addressed to Migri (the Finnish Immigration Service) listing all the documents they've included.

Bank Statements: One year of your parents' or guardians' bank statements, stamped by the bank.

Income Tax Returns (ITR): Your parents' or guardians' income tax returns, preferably for the last three years, to show their source of income.

Proof of Employment (Optional but Recommended): An employment letter or the last three payslips from your parents or guardians to further demonstrate their source of funds.

Statement of Assets: A document that lists all financial assets (e.g., stocks, mutual funds, bank deposits). This should preferably be signed by a chartered accountant or a licensed wealth manager.

Health insurance of EUR 40,000/year for all 2-year to 4-year programs

The starting date of health insurance should be at least 1 week (7..- 10 days) before the start of the program, coinciding with the planned travel to Finland

You can take 1-year health insurance (starting from 7..10 days before the start of your course) from any Indian or International insurance company

Swisscare has a policy that meets the requirements for Finland and is listed on the Migri site.

The policy can be purchased online for about EUR 197.10 (paid by credit card). The policy is issued by Anker Insurance, Netherlands.

Pay the tuition fee indicated in the university acceptance letter by wire transfer

Ask the university for a confirmation email.

Attach the wire transfer (SWIFT) message from your bank/forex dealer, and a confirmation email from the university – if you don’t get the official receipt

Fill out the application on Enter Finland (https://enterfinland.fi/eServices/info/studypermit)

Register and create a login. Keep the login and password details carefully.

Fill all the fields in the application

Attach scans of all required documents.

Take a printout of the completed and submitted application (Initiation certificate)

Pay the fee of EUR 450 (INR 45000). If you are a minor at the time of application, the fee is EUR 270 (27,000 ) in the case of a minor) by credit card.

Take a printout of the receipt (Certificate of Pending Online Case)

After applying to the EnterFinand site, you have to make an appointment at VFS Delhi

A separate service charge of INR 2003 is payable while booking the VFS Appointment (VFS Residence Permit Service). If you want to receive the resident permit card by courier, you also need to pay an additional INR 482 as a courier service fee (else you can collect in person, for free)

In the case of applicants who are minors at the time of application, it is better to include a Consent Letter from parents/guardians addressed to Migri, indicating that are permitting the applicant to apply for a student permit, permit the applicant to travel to the university for studies, will allow the student to access the funds in the bank account, and will make all applications/undertakings on behalf of the student for fulfilling the requirements for studying in Finland
